System Prompt Generator
Visually construct highly optimized AI personas and constraints. Stop getting generic AI outputs and start engineering precise system commands.
The Secret to Better AI Outputs
The difference between amateur AI usage and professional prompt engineering usually comes down to the System Prompt. Models like GPT-4 and Claude are incredibly powerful, but if you don't give them strict boundaries, they default to generic, verbose, overly-apologetic responses.
The 4 Pillars of a Great System Prompt
- Persona / Roleplay: Telling an AI "You are a senior python developer" restricts its neural pathways to favor highly technical, programming-oriented language instead of casual chit-chat.
- Objective: A clear, concise thesis statement of what the AI is supposed to accomplish during this session.
- Tone Guidelines: You can entirely change how an AI speaks. "Socratic" makes it ask you questions instead of giving answers. "Concise" forces it to eliminate filler words.
- Hard Constraints: Numbered lists of negative constraints (e.g., "1. Do not use markdown headers. 2. Do not write a summary at the end.") are the most effective way to wrangle unpredictable AI outputs.
How to Use This Tool
Simply fill out the form parameters on the left. The live-preview window on the right will dynamically construct a beautifully formatted Markdown prompt. You can click Copy Prompt and paste it directly into the "System Instructions" of the OpenAI Playground, Anthropic Console, or simply use it as your first message in ChatGPT!
